About Kris

Kris Kelly grew up in Greenwich, Connecticut. After graduating Greenwich High School, she moved to NYC to study acting at the American Academy. She performed with the 23rd Street Playhouse for a couple of years before coming to Los Angeles to work in film and TV.

Kris has loved animals since she was very young. It was when she started volunteering with the Amanda Foundation and Lange Foundation that she realized how many abused and neglected animals there were who needed homes. She vowed to donate her life to helping these furry friends with no voice.

The Kris Kelly Foundation was founded by Kris Kelly after many years of dreaming of her own Non-Profit to save animals from abuse, slaughter, and neglect. The Foundation is taking an approach to not only work for animals but work for people also. The Foundation is an animal rescue organization that embraces the elderly and children (that includes teenagers).

Animal Rescue, Activist, and Actress (AAA)

How does it relate to green, good or giving?
I give animals that have been abandoned, abused and or neglected a second chance at life. My team goes to shelters and rescues dogs and cats. We will take in animals from private individuals that need to relinquish their pets. We also will help abused animals that we get calls about.

What are you working on at the moment?
I am also speaking with Warner Brothers about a reality show of my everyday life relating to the animal work I do.

What long and winding road led you to your current position?
Sunset Blvd. It did bring me to where I am today; between rescuing on Sunset in West Hollywood to doing dog adoptions on Sunset in Pacific Palisades...to my home and to my dreams...it was all on Sunset Blvd.

Where were you born? Where do you live now?
I was born in Greenwich Connecticut and I live in Pacific Palisades CA right now.

What has been your worst moment in your professional life to date?
My worst moment regarding Animal Rescue was to realize that sometimes while I was trying to be the voice for the animals that even my voice was not being heard.

What's been the best?
When I realized that all I had to do was speak louder and my voice would be heard.

What is your philosophy of giving?
Give and you shall receive. When I started rescuing animals on a full time basis I never got depressed or worried. I say to people that live a life of sadness and feeling of worthlessness: Go out and do something for someone else and see how that makes you feel. As an actress everything was about me: my headshots, auditions, filming were all, 'Me me me.' If you do not have balance of giving and receiving you will experience ailments. I rescue animals but really they rescue me.
